The Spicy Boudoir is a family-owned business with headquarters in Brisbane, Australia. We watched on in horror at the fires in Queensland in late 2019, particularly as some came close to people we care about and places we love (Canungra, Scenic Rim, Ravensbourne to name a few).
Over the Christmas and New Year period we have again watched in shock and disbelief at the level of devastation that has occurred to land, wildlife and communities. We have been feeling depressed, disheartened and had no interest in talking about sex, orgasms and vibrators, it felt frivolous and inappropriate.
We are a small business and not in the position to give cash donations on par with larger companies so we’ve been thinking about how we can help people get back on their feet. As a family, we have made personal donations for the short-term and planning long-term support. In terms of our business, we realised that we can make it easy, and very affordable, for people living in fire-affected communities to ‘get back on the horse’ so-to-speak and try to regain part of their lives that they enjoyed before the fires: SEX
We’re not about helping you just to get off. No, sex for The Spicy Boudoir is all about communication, intimacy and connection. What better way to reconnect emotionally than gifting time to reconnect with yourself and your loved one? Pleasure will help the healing process so don't feel guilty allowing yourself to indulge. We're now not feeling guilty to talk about and encourage people to have sex! Humans are made for sex, it will always be there!
Rather than throwing the leg over, we'd like to give you a leg up:
Until 30 June 2020, if you live in the fire zone we extend support to you via a 30% discount across the majority of our range of products (we're afraid there are some exclusions: freight for larger items, DVDs, books, downloads and The Intimate Rider). All you need to do is contact us directly for a special code to be used on your order, which we will send if your postcode matches the declared disaster zone area determined by the Australian Taxation Office (who have also come to the party with leniency on your BAS and tax returns. Go ATO!).
This offer of support extends to people everywhere in Australia impacted by fires 2019-2020 and we will review the timing of the program in May 2020.
We know that lives and landscapes have irrevocably changed forever. It is difficult to look for a silver lining on this disaster. If anything, let it be the catalyst to combat climate change on a global scale.
We hope that people reading this will accept the message in the spirit that it is intended: that the wheels of economy need to keep turning but doesn't need to ignore those who need help.
